Every day Elks around the country are helping their communities. The Berea Elks are highly active supporting our youth, veterans, and those in need.
Berea Elks Keeping kids off drugs
The Berea Elks utilized a $500 grant from the Elks National Foundation to fund a new pilot program with Berea Police called "Too Good For Drugs" This program will teach 4th graders at Grindstone Elementary the dangers of prescription and street drugs giving them the tools they need to be strong and safe as they transition to intermediate school. RASING MONEY FOR CHILDREN'S CANCER
The Berea Elks raised over $2,500 for the St. Baldrick's Foundation focused on fighting childhood cancers. Three wonderful Berea Elk's ladies shaved their heads for the cause. Michelle Ziegler, Dianna Threadgill, and Michelle Hill are pictured above before, and after.
ANNUAL HOOP SHOOT DINNER
The Berea Elks played host to all the families that participated in this year Elks National Hoop Shoot honoring the great kids that won and moved on to the Northeast Ohio District competition.
ANNUAL CHARITY BALL - 2015
The Berea Elks showed up in full force to support the Elk's Annual Charity Ball for Cerebral Palsy of Cleveland in October. This year's ball was held at Lakewood Lodge and raised over $6,000 for CP!
ELKTOBERFEST FOR CEREBRAL PALSY
The Berea Elks held our first annual "Elktoberfest" event at the Berea Lodge to raise money for United Cerebral Palsy of Cleveland. This German-themed festival featured great food, drinks, and "feats of strength" including a Masskrugstemmen Bavarian Strongman Contest which raised hundreds of dollars for CP.
VETS TO THE ZOO 2015
The Berea Elks partnered with the Columbia Station VFW Post to bring 35 disabled veterans from the VA Hospital at Wade Park to the Cleveland Metropark Zoo in August for a full day of fun and relaxation. Each veteran was teamed up with Elks and VFW members for a day that everyone will remember.
FLAG DAY 2015
Boy Scout Troop 215 conducted a flag retirement ceremony on Flag Day at the Berea Elks Lodge honoring our nation with a proper retirement of nearly 3 dozen flags.
Veterans Dinner May 2015
The Elks hosted a great dinner for our veterans at the Lakewood Elks Lodge and a number of Berea Elks members attending the event, including our very own Bob Atkinson see here greeting each veteran as they arrived.
Berea Midpark Post Prom May 2015
The Berea Elks made a $1,000 donation to this year's Berea Midpark High School Post Prom providing a fun and safe environment after the prom. Several Berea Elks members also worked on the post prom committee and helped run the event which was a great success.
